The employer is looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our team. You will be responsible for leading, the culinary team to deliver the highest standard dishes. You will be working to ensure that the vision is expressed through menu offerings and level of service as well as assisting in the hiring, training and expectations of your kitchen team.


  • Manage the culinary aspect of the venue, working collaboratively with the owner and other members of the management team
  • Co-ordinate, plan and execute menu development, roll-outs and culinary training for the teams with the management
  • Assist with recipe development, food cost analysis, menu planning and pricing
  • Ensure the highest standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are always maintained throughout all kitchen areas
  • Focus on profitability through food and labour cost initiatives including minimizing waste and theft
  • Motivate and coach culinary staff to work together as a team to ensure quality standards are consistently attained
  • Hire, train, schedule, and discipline employees
  • Perform staff audits on line and provide correction action as required
  • Monitor inventory and waste
  • Provides data for related budget areas (food and labour costs)
  • Establishes and maintains a cleaning schedule


  • Min 2 years’ experience in the same or a similar role
  • 5+ years restaurant experience
  • Diploma, Certificate or Degree in Culinary Arts, or equivalent preferred

– Food Handler certified

  • Energetic team leader with the ability to motivate team to produce accurate, complete and quality work
  • Attention to detail, takes initiative, has a hands-on approach
  • Able to build positive rapport and communicate easily with colleagues and staff
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to obtain information, determine course of action and follow through to successful resolution
