Farm supervisor

Farm is seeking one (1) full-time Farm Supervisor. This is a hourly position reporting to the Farm Manager. The farm is involved in the production and harvesting of vegetable and grains.

Job Duties:

• Supervise certain areas of farm/crop operations and perform all daily required functions
• Recruit, hire, train and maintain a staff of farm operators, and seasonal farm workers
• Coordinate, assign and supervise the work of general farm workers
• Budget, meeting with suppliers, organize logistics, plan operations, develop work schedules
• Operate farm equipment, maintain machinery as required and perform safety checks
• Oversee and work with the team in the planting, fertilizing, cultivating, spraying and harvesting of crops
• Develop positive work relationships, communicate effectively
• Ensure facilities and equipment is maintained in good order
• Adhere to Health and Safety practices and policies, and supervisory responsibilities

Terms of Employment: Full time (50 hours per week)

• No educational requirement

Level of Work Experience Required:

• Must have at least five (5) years of farming experience, out of which at least one (1) year in a supervisory or managerial role;
• Must have at least one (1) year experience in operating and maintaining farm equipment;

Salary: $20.11-$25.00 per hour
